Salvador Simó

PhD in Inclusive Education and, since 2000, lecturer and researcher at the University of Vic-University of Catalonia where he is director of the Mental Health and Social Innovation group at the Centre for Health and Social Studies. Co-author (with Carlos Peña and Francesc Arrufat) of the book Suicidio y vida. Historias de personas con antecendentes autolíticos (Suicide and Life: Stories of People with a History of Self-Harming, Círculo Rojo, 2015), he mainly carries out research in the areas of suicide prevention, the social determinants of health, social entrepreneurship and the use of art as a health asset, and social inclusion. He has wide-ranging experience in the fields of social and mental health in Spain, and his work in cooperation projects led him to co-found Teràpia Ocupacional Sense Fronteres (Occupational Therapy without Borders) and to work in Bosnia, Kosovo and Guatemala. He is international adviser for projects concerned with research, education and praxis, and he has taught, given lectures and worked in more than thirty countries.
