Rosa Novell

Actress and theatre director.

An actress and theatre director, she was born in Barcelona where she obtained a degree in Hispanic Philology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and also studied at the Barcelona Theatre Institute. She has appeared in numerous works as an actress, for example A Delicate Balance (Edward Albee), Phaedra (Racine), Coriolanus (Shakespeare), Heroes’ Square (Thomas Bernhard). She has also worked in cinema and television and has directed works by Harold Pinter, Samuel Beckett and Joan Brossa, among others. She has received many prizes and awards for her work, among them the Creu de Sant Jordi (St George Cross), the National Prize for Culture of the Generalitat (Government) of Catalonia, the Critics’ Prizes for Best Actress and Best Director, inter alia.
