Raquel Marques

Filmmaker

Raquel Marques (Porto, 1979). Filmmaker, teacher and trainer, she works in the field of documentary creation, image pedagogy and film education from a feminist perspective. She has a degree in Communication Sciences (Universidade Nova de Lisboa) and a Master's in Creative Documentary (Pompeu Fabra University). She's jointly responsible for the educational projects team of the cooperative Drac Màgic, dedicated to studying and promoting film and audiovisual culture. Her works include Um mergulho em água fria (2024), which premiered at the Malaga Festival, and Tiempos de deseo (2020), which won an award at the Alcances Festival and was screened at festivals such as Doclisboa, L'Alternativa and the Buenos Aires Documentary Festival.

Outstanding filmography: Um mergulho em água fria (2024); Tiempos de deseo (2020); Miedo (2020), Arreta (2016), co-directed with María Zafra and prize-winner at the Zinegoak Festival; Vecines (2017), a collective production by Laboratorio Reversible; F(r)iccions entre el treball i la vida, a short co-directed with María Romero, María Zafra and Zoraida Roselló; A Casa que eu quero (2010) co-directed with Joana Frazão and produced by Terratreme Filmes.
