Pedro Gómez-Romero

Research professor and scientific communicator of the CSIC, Director of the NEO-Energy Group at the Catalan Institute for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, ICN2 (CSIC-CERCA- Severo Ochoa Centre).

Prof. Pedro Gómez-Romero (Born in Almansa during the last century), holds a degree in Chemistry and a Master’s Degree from the University of Valencia. He has a PhD in Chemistry from Georgetown University, USA, 1987, with Distinction). He took a sabbatical stay at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, USA (1998-99), and is today a Research professor and scientific communicator for the CSIC. As Group Leader of the NEO-Energy Laboratory at the ICN2 (CSIC-BIST) (2007-), he directs projects on materials for the storage and conversion of energy (supercondensers, lithium batteries, flow cells, thermal solar energy, nanofluids, graphene, hybrid materials). He is the author of 102 (ten raised to the power of two) scientific publications, and also of numerous communication activities, including four books (Metaevolución. La Tierra en el espejo (Ed. Celeste, 2001), winner of the Casa de las Ciencias de la Coruña Award, 2000, Un Planeta en busca de energía (Ed. Síntesis, 2007) winner of the Esteban de Terreros International Essay Award, 2006, Creadores de futuro (Ed. Bromera, 2016) winner of a European Research Award and Nanomundo (Materia/El Pais 2017).
