Mònica Terribas

Journalist and professor

A journalist and lecturer, she has a degree in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Stirling, Scotland. She began her career as a journalist in the news services of the radio station Cadena 13 and, in 1988, she started to work in Televisió de Catalunya as a member of Josep Maria Puyal’s team. Since then, she has worked in coordination, scriptwriting, directing, and presenting several programmes broadcast by TV3, including the news analysis segment La nit al dia. She was director of Televisió de Catalunya from 2009 to 2012, and also director and presenter of the radio programme El matí de Catalunya Ràdio (2013-2020). She is a well-known reference for journalism in Catalonia and has received numerous awards including the National Prize for Culture of the Generalitat (Government) of Catalonia in 2003 and the City of Barcelona Prize for Television in 2006. She presently teaches in the Department of Communication at the Pompeu Fabra University, where she has been academic vice-rector in Journalism Studies.
