Miquel Molist

Professor of Prehistory at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where he also coordinates the Prehistoric Archaeology of the Middle East Seminar, he has worked mainly in researching the origins and consolidation of the first agricultural societies in the eastern Mediterranean and Catalonia. He has led numerous archaeological excavations, mostly in Syria, Turkey and Iraq. One notable example of this work is his research on the Neolithic site of Tell Halula, which he describes in the publication Tell Halula: un poblado de los primeros agricultores en el valle del Éufrates, Siria (Tell Halula: A Settlement of the First Agriculturalists in the Euphrates Valley, Syria, Treballs Arqueologia Pròxim Orient 2, 2008). He was director of Archaeology Museum of Catalonia from 2000 to 2004.
