Mary Ann Newman
(New York, 1951). Is an essayist and translator. She graduated in Spanish and Catalan Literature from New York University where she was director of the Catalan Center-Institut Ramon Llull (2006-2011). She is currently visiting research scholar at the Center for European and Mediterranean Studies. She has lectured at a number of universities in the USA and written articles about literature and translation. She has translated the works of authors such as Quim Monzó. Joan Maragall andi Narcís Comadira into English. She holds the Creu de Sant Jordi and is a contributor to the journal L’Avenç.
