Marta Pessarrodona

Poet and literary critic

She is a poet and literary critic. She has published several works on Virginia Woolf and the Bloomsbury group, and has translated Susan Sontag, Doris Lessing, Erica Jong, Simone de Beauvoir and Marguerite Duras. In 1997 he received the Creu de Sant Jordi, in 2007 an anthology of his poetic work was published, Poemes 1969-2007: Antologia [Poems 1969-2007: Anthology] (Editorial Meteora), and in 2019, the compendium A favor nostre. Antologia de poemes i pròleg a cura d'Àngels Gregori [In our favor. Anthology of poems and prologue by Àngels Gregori] (Godall Edicions, 2019). For his works published in 2010, the book of poems Animals i plantes [Animals and Plants] (Editorial Meteora), the essays França: gener 1939. La cultura catalana exiliada [France: January 1939. Catalan culture in exile] (Ara Llibres) and L'exili violeta [The violet exile] (Editorial Meteora), Pessarrodona was awarded the National Literature Prize of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
