Maria Gimeno

Multidisciplinary artist Maria Gimeno was born in Zamora. Her recent work is based on women artists through history. Gimeno’s work has gradually shifted from the personal to the social, from art seen as a tool of introspection to an open defence of women’s rights in the 21^st century. Bachelor of Fine Arts (UCM) and founder of the alternative art gallery Espacio F (Madrid), she has had solo and group exhibitions in Spain, Switzerland, France, Mexico, Germany, Serbia, Cuba, Morocco and Yemen, and her work is included in private collections. She currently works with Gowen Contemporary (Geneva), and collaborates with Galería Rafael Pérez Hernando (Madrid) and Galería Páramo (Guadalajara, Mexico).
