Marc Talavera
Marc Talavera holds a PhD in Biology from the University of Barcelona, specializing in ethnobotany, agroecology, forest ecology, and scientific communication. He is one of the leaders of the Eixarcolant collective, which has become one of the most important entities in the country for the protection, dissemination, and reproduction of ancient and traditional varieties, as well as the recovery of forgotten plants, known as “weeds,” with over 1,400 species and varieties restored. The collective promotes environmental education and sustainability through community participation. They work on projects that foster ecological awareness, sustainable agriculture, and the regeneration of local ecosystems. Eixarcolant aims to create a space for collaboration between different social actors and institutions to address environmental and social challenges, promoting a more planet-friendly way of life.
