Leslea Hlusko
Anthropologist and promoter of the interdisciplinary study of human evolution
Leslea Hlusko has focused much of her research on the study of human evolution, and she has become a figure of reference in the dissemination of Darwin’s legacy. She is also one of the leading international researchers in the new field of paleoproteomics, studying fossil proteins. Through 2021, she worked as a professor and researcher in the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. Subsequently, she moved to the CENIEH (National Centre for Research on Human Evolution) in Spain. She currently leads a dental anthropology research group that investigates how genetic variation influences dental variation and how that relationship has evolved through time, with the goal of improving our understanding of the human condition.
