A leading writer of new South Korean literature, her political and intimate writing takes shape from the everyday events, people and coincidences that surround her. Since the beginning of her career, with the distinguished short story '치킨 런' —Chicken Run— (2012) and the work 중앙역 JungangyeokJoongang Station— (2013), she has received numerous awards and distinctions in her home country, among them the prestigious Daesan Prize for Literature in 2020 or the Kim Yujeong Literary Award 2023. Her works show an intimate and universal vision of the ways of living in the world and the social injustices that surround it. In 2022 she published her first work translated into Spanish, Concerning My Daughter as Sobre mi hija (Las Afueras), winner of the Shin Dong-yup Literature Prize 2028, a mother-and-child story of understanding, identity conflict and tradition in today's South Korean society. Counsel Culture, translated into Spanish as Soy toda oídos (Las Afueras, 2024) is her second publication in Spanish, a novel about guilt and the search for redemption in an adverse world that delves into issues such as cancellation or harassment. She is also the author of the book 9번의 9beonui ilDay 9— (2020), a nouvelle and two sets of short stories. She has been translated into multiple languages such as Japanese, Chinese, Czech, English, German, French, Italian, Italian, or Portuguese, among others.
