Júlia Colom

Singer

She is a Majorcan singer. Trained in Jazz singing at the Taller de Músics in Barcelona, she has been interested in traditional music since she was very young, and in 2019 she travels through the villages of Mallorca in search of singers belonging to the last generation of the pre-tourist Mallorca, with the aim of teaching her old tunes and songs. The audiovisual platform Filmin is interested in documenting this search and recovery process, with the support of IB3 Televisió. As a result, the documentary Sempre dijous [Always Thursday], directed by Joan Porcel, wins the Festival Inèdit 2020 in the category of Best National Documentary.

Colom is part of the "Clamor" tour of Maria Arnal and Marcel Bagés as a backing vocalist, and also writes songs, which will soon be published on his first album. The singer knows how to find, nowadays, a place to dignify a traditional identity that often seems forgotten and diluted in the accelerated life of postmodernity. She is one of the artists invited to perform at the gala of the Max Awards for the Performing Arts 2022, the awards given annually to professionals in the performing arts of the State that reward and recognize the work of professionals and the quality of the most outstanding productions of the year.
