Juan Arnau

Valencian philosopher and writer. Graduate in Astrophysics and specialist in Eastern philosophies. He has translated from Sanskrit the main works of Buddhism and Hinduism. His books include Manual de filosofía portátil (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2014), with which he won the Premio de la Crítica valenciana and was a finalist for the Premio Nacional de Ensayo, La invención de la libertad (2016, Atlanta), Historia de la imaginación (2020, Espasa) and En la mente del mundo (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2022), an essay on the relationship between observation and nature. He is currently a professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, where he teaches classes on Indian thought. He is a defender of humanism in the age of technological distraction. He is a regular contributor to the newspaper El País.
