Josep Giribet
Artist, photographer and professor
He is a Fine Arts graduate who wrote his doctoral thesis on the creation of a colours recognition system for blind people, called Project IRIS. He is a specialist in multimedia design and infography, both disciplines he has taught at different Catalan universities. He currently teaches at the Department of Journalism and Audiovisual Communication of the Pompeu Fabra University.
Since the seventies, his artistic works have explored the possibilities of cybernetics. His research into identity and cyberspace led him to collaborate with Roy Ascott on different occasions and to exhibit at the Porto Alegre Biennial (1999).
He is director of Calidos, a multimedia services agency for businesses.
