Jordi Llovet

Department of Literary Theory, Universitat de Barcelona.

Professor of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the University of Barcelona, guest lecturer at the Pompeu Fabra University and director of the Department of Literature at the Barcelona Institute of Humanities. He is an essayist and translator of authors including Hölderlin, Rilke, Byron, Flaubert and Thomas Mann and since the year 2000 has been director of the forthcoming Spanish edition of the Complete Works of Franz Kafka in the Clásicos Alemanes (German Classics) series. He was awarded the Ciutat de Barcelona Prize for his translation into Catalan of Charles Baudelaire’s Les Fleurs du Mal (2007). He writes a weekly column for the daily El País.
