Jeremy Packer

Jeremy Packer, assistant lecturer in the Department of Communication of the University of Pennsylvania. His areas of research are cultural studies and technological communications, particularly the interrelation between communications and transport technologies, and the resulting political implications. He is the author and co-editor of Mobility without Mayhem: Mass Mediating Safety and Automobility/ (Duke University Press); Thinking With James Carey: Essays on Communications, Transportation, History (Peter Lang, 2006), co-edited with Craig Robertson; Foucault, Cultural Studies, and Governmentality (State University of New York Press, 2003), co-edited with Jack Bratich and Cameron McCarthy; Secret Agents: The Many Changing Faces of a Pop-Culture Icon (Peter Lang, forthcoming), co-edited with Theodore Bailey.
