Patron of the arts, director of the Han Nefkens and ArtAids foundations.
(Rotterdam 1954) A patron of the arts and writer, Han Nefkens presently resides in Barcelona. He studied journalism in France and the United States and worked as a press correspondent in Mexico, after which he started collecting contemporary art. He now has his own “H+F Collection” consisting of photographs, videos, installations and paintings, many of which are loaned to different museums around Europe. His main activity, always at the international level, is to commission works for specific exhibitions and offer awards to artists, designers and writers. He has initiated such projects as H+F Curatorial Grant, H+F Fashion Award, the ArtAids Foundation and the Han Nefkens Foundation. In 2011 he was awarded Zilveren Anjer (Silver Carnation) Prize for his contributions to Dutch culture.
