Fefa Vila

Vila is a sociologist, researcher, queer and feminist activist and independent curator specialised in cultural and gender studies. She is currently Professor of Sociology at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Vila was the initiator of the activist lesbian collective LSD (1993-1998), a key point of reference in Spain for queer activism in the 1990s, and has been involved with the Grupo de Trabajo Queer. She has participated in the collective publication MUECA :S Conversaciones sobre metodologías torcidas (Bellaterra Edicions, 2023) and was the co-editor of El libro de buen [a]mor. Sexualidades raras y políticas extrañas (with Javier Sáez, Ayuntamiento de Madrid, 2019). In 2017 she directed the art project entitled El porvenir de la revuelta. Memoria y deseo LGTBIQ, whose programme featured exhibitions, workshops, performances, music, cinema and seminars.
