Erik Davis

Is an author, podcaster, award-winning journalist and independent scholar based in San Francisco. He has written for scores of publications, journals and academic volumes. He is the author, most recently, of Nomad Codes: Adventures in Modern Esoterica (2010), and was also responsible for TechGnosis: Myth, Magic, and Mysticism in the Age of Information (1998), which has been translated into six languages. He explores the ‘cultures of consciousness’ in his weekly podcast Expanding Mind, and recently earned his PhD in Religious Studies from Rice University, where he wrote about “High Weirdness” in the 1970s.
