Enric Martí
Photojournalist
Enric Martí began his photojournalism career in Nicaragua as an assistant for the AFP news agency. In that country, at the end of the eighties, he photographed the end of the Sandinist regime and began to collaborate as a freelance for Reuters. Driven by the need to document conflicts, in 1992 he traveled freelance to Sarajevo and was hired by Associated Press. Since then, Marti has traveled throughout Africa, Asia and the Middle East to cover all kinds of conflicts and natural disasters. In 2002, he moved to Jerusalem and was chief photo editor and photographer for AP during the height of the Second Intifada. In 2006, he worked in Mexico as Associated Press director of photography for Latin America. Since 2018, he has worked as AP's deputy director of photography for features. He has been a juror for the World Press Photo in 2009 and 2011. Awarded with the Ortega y Gasset 1999, the World Press Photo 2000, the Bayeux Calvados-Normandie 2001 and the Fotopress "La Caixa" in the editions of 1993, 1999 and 2001.
