Elena Castro Córdoba
Elena Castro Córdoba (Madrid, 1993) has a degree in Philosophy (Complutense University of Madrid) and a Master’s in Gender, Media, and Culture (Goldsmiths University). She is a predoctoral fellow at the Complutense University where she is doing a doctorate in feminist studies, with a thesis on queer and affective temporalities. She researches and writes on contemporary feminism, archiving, and temporal politics and its interrelationship with contemporary aesthetics. She is also a “comadre” (co-mother) of the cultural-production collective Ontologías Feministas, which specializes in the virtual world and activities with a feminist perspective. She has recently co-curated ‘Nueva Sinceridad’ (New Sincerity, Buenos Aires, 2022), the round table ‘Temporalidades queer’ (Queer Temporalities, Auditori Barradas, 2022). She also has co-run the workshops ‘El peso del papel’ (Weight of Paper), ‘Coreografías mínimas. Un monitoreo’ (Minimal choreographies. A monitoring, Bornlab, 2022), and ‘Mediar el daño’ (Mediating the Damage, MNCARS 2022) – both with Ontologías Feministas. Together with the collective Una Fiesta Salvaje (A Wild Party), she coordinated the workshop ‘Anhelo de ser salvaje’ (Wishing to be wild) and the performance-art ‘Con quien tanto queremos’ (With Whom We Love So Much, Matadero de Madrid, 2022).
