Dirk Laucke
(Schkeuditz, Germany, 1982). One of the most outstanding playwrights in the present-day theatre scene in Germany, he grew up in Halle in the former GDR and studied Psychology and Playwriting in Leipzig and Berlin, where he presently resides. He has written some twelve plays, which have been performed in several theatres in Germany and Austria, as well as in the Salzburg Festival and the Mülheim Theatertage festival. In 2006 he received the Kleist Prize for Young Playwrights for his work alter ford escort dunkelblau (old ford escort dark blue) and, in 2007, he was invited by the Sala Beckett of Barcelona to participate in its International Observatory of Theatre.
