Carme Torrent

Carme Torrent works on the perimeters offthreshold between dance, visual arts, philosophy and pedagogy. While studying architecture at the UPC Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC(Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech) she worked with various professional architects, one of whom was Enric Miralles. At the same time, she continued to engage with the world of dance, developing projects on her own and with other artists. Drawn to the discipline of Body Weather (workshops investigating the body and movement within different and changing environments), she travelled to Japan and for ten years collaborated with the project, Dance Resources on Earth, directed by Min Tanaka. She has also regularly collaborated in productions choreographed by Xavier Le Roy. In the last recent years she has given workshops on the Exerce Master’s Degree programme (Montpellier). Presently, she is finishing a degree in Philosophy at the University of Barcelona (UB).
