Carlos Losilla

Essayist and film critic, PhD in Communication from Pompeu Fabra University, where he teaches in the areas of film and audiovisual communication. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the magazines Caimán Cuadernos de Cine and La Furia Umana. His books include Flujos de la melancolía. De la historia al relato del cine (Generalitat Valenciana, 2011), La invención de la modernidad. o cómo acabar de una vez por todas con la historia del cine (Cátedra, 2012), and Zona de sombra: Notas dispersas a partir de Viaggio in Italia (ULPGC, 2014). He also writes film reviews for Time Out Barcelona, the website Sensacine, and the Cultura/s supplement of the newspaper La Vanguardia. Additionally, he is a member of the programming team for the Barcelona International Auteur Film Festival (D’A).
