Carles Viñas

Historian and researcher

Carles Viñas (Barcelona, 1972) is a Doctor of Contemporary History (Barcelona University) and a member of the States, Nations and Sovereignty Research Group of Pompeu Fabra University (GRENS-UPF). His research combines historical investigation of youth styles, with particular emphasis on skinheads and radical football supporters, with teaching and divulgation. He has published several essays, including Música i skinheads a Catalunya. El so de la política (Diputació de Barcelona, 2001), Skinheads a Catalunya (Columna, 2004), El mundo ultra. Los radicales del fútbol español (Temas de Hoy, 2005), Tolerància zero. La violència en el futbol (Angle Editorial, 2006) and, most recently, Futbol al país dels soviets (Tigre de Paper, 2019).
