Candela Capitán

Action artist and choreographer.

Her personal work explores the activation and deactivation of social ties by placing the body in relation to other bodies, objects and collective images. New communication technologies, cross-border relationships between artistic disciplines, and intergenerational impact and their consequences are some of the topics running through her projects. They serve to create dreamlike spaces and parallel realities in the form of choreographies, installations or performances that invite the viewer to participate directly in their tensions, pleasures and delusions. She mainly uses the language of performance to study the limits of dance, based on a thorough knowledge of the moving body and its presence on stage. She develops her works in different media (live actions, installations or audiovisuals) and vehicles (virtual or live platforms), with the aim of finding different channels of interconnection with the public or questioning artistic disciplines and their possibilities.
