Antoni Vives

Antoni Vives i Tomàs (Barcelona, 1965) has been Deputy Mayor for Urban Habitat in the Barcelona City Council since 2011.

A writer and politician, he has published several essay collections and novels and is a columnist for newspapers and weeklies throughout Spain. He has been awarded the Joan Fuster Essay Prize and the Prat de la Riba Prize for his journalistic articles. With a degree in Business Sciences, specialising in International Trade and Marketing, he has occupied management positions in private companies and civic entities and presently holds an executive post in the political party CDC. He has been Secretary of Government for the Generalitat (Government) of Catalonia and is currently a Barcelona City councillor.
