Andrea Velásquez Butrón

Andrea Velásquez is a transdisciplinary researcher who focuses on interculturality and critical pedagogies. Her professional practice moves between academia, art and activism. She has a Master’s degree in Educational Policy and Development from the University of Glasgow and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She has worked on collaborative intercultural education projects in rural contexts with indigenous communities using visual methodologies. Her lines of research are ethics in research, coloniality of power and epistemological justice from an anticolonial and antiracist perspective. She is currently part of AGUAS, a curatorial platform to generate spaces of dialogue and co-creation that serve to re-signify spaces of art, creation and research.
