Álvaro Enrigue

One of Mexico’s best known novelists both nationally and internationally, he received the 2013 Herralde Prize for his novel Sudden Death (Riverhead, 2016). His earlier novels, also well received by the critics, include Vidas perpendiculares (Anagrama, 2008) and Decencia (Anagrama, 2011). Also outstanding is his essay Valiente clase media (Anagrama, 2013). His new novel Ahora me rindo y eso es todo will be published by Anagrama at the end of 2018. This book is set in the border zone between Mexico and the United States and consists of a mosaic of stories comprising a general meditation on how the past infiltrates the present.
