Alicia Scherson
Chilean scriptwriter and director. She has lived, studied or worked in Chile, Cuba, Spain and the USA.
Her first two feature films Play (2005) and Turistas (2009), were premiered and received prizes internationally. Her third film, El Futuro, is an adaptation of Una novelita Lumpen by Roberto Bolaño. It was premiered in 2013 at the Sundance Festival and is now being exhibited at festivals around the world. It recently received the prize of the Dutch critics (Big Screen – KNF) at the Rotterdam Festival. Alicia lives in Chile, and sometimes also works as producer of the films of her friends (Verano, by Jose Luis Torres Leiva, Venice 2011) as well as teaching a workshop for the degree course in Film at the University of Chile.
