Aleksandra Mir

Aleksandra Mir (b.1967 Lubin, Poland) is a Swedish-American artist based in London. Mir, who studied Communications, Fine Art and Cultural Anthropology, assumes the broadest definition of culture and takes an investigative approach in all of her work, scrutinizing traditions, popular myths, the scientific world and the news media. Her best-known work, First Woman on the Moon, has been touring for twenty years and included in over 60 exhibitions worldwide, covering everything from Geography, Land Art, Feminism and Media Anthropology to Conspiracy Theory and Fairy Tales.
