Interview with Philip Hensher

Philip Hensher (London, 1965) is one of the most renowned and influential writers on the British literary scene today. A journalist, university lecturer and the author of seven novels, his work reflects the diversity of contemporary English society and reveals a special sensitivity when expressing the delicate relations between characters and the world of which they form a part. The author affirms that often he starts “ (...) with an object, in a room; with a detail, with something that could only exist in a particular nation, town, street or even house. A psychology emerges; a narrative starts."
