The Skies Won’t Keep Their Secret
Clara Aguilar, Sílvia Delagneau and Pol Guasch
Scene + Music
After the premiere of Microoperas of Today at the MACBA, the Liceu and the CCCB, we’ll be extending the sessions of the microopera The Skies Won’t Keep their Secret for another week, from 11 to 16 February, in the Teatre CCCB. This is another chance to enjoy the work by Clara Aguilar, Sílvia Delagneau and Pol Guasch in exclusive. The piece plays with the conventions of traditional opera and reflects on beauty and the relationship between art and nature.
In a journey of time and performance, music and light, The Skies Won’t Keep Their Secret is a dialogue of voices that mutate as they make their way through the stages of life (from childhood to old age), relationships (from love to friendship) and connection with the world (from scepticism to fusion). The piece uses dialogue as an attempt to resolve the question that always accompanies us: what is the history of beautiful things?
With a format that plays with conventions and combines elements of opera, installation and stage experimentation, this story of anonymous voices is a testament to the complexity of art in its attempt to capture the beauty of the natural world, and asks whether this effort is revealing or futile.
