The Shortest Day

Short Film Celebration

Audiovisuals + Festivals

Free

A simultaneous festival around the globe to celebrate and promote short films! Edition four, The Shortest Day, is back with the biggest programme, and, in Barcelona, the CCCB is the epicentre.

There are five programmes specially chosen for the occasion:

PEARLS: A programme to rediscover timeless gems that often fall by the wayside. This is the short format, in all its greatness. [Recommended for 12 years and over]

FORWARD: Experimentation and new narratives. The freshest, boldest proposals, specially dedicated to young people—and also for more inquiring adults who want to be in the vanguard. With the collaboration of Habitació 14/18. [Recommended for 14 years and over]

CURT.CAT: A selection of some of today’s most outstanding short films in Catalan original version. [Recommended for 12 years and over]

FOR THE FAMILY: A careful selection for the kids and one that the whole family can enjoy. Cinema with values that also inspires and fuels our curiosity. [Recommended for all publics]

WILD NIGHT: The craziest session with the craziest OTT shorts. We’re turning conventions and taboos upside down again. [Recommended for 16 years and over]

Plus other films, like outstanding shorts from the last edition of the major film festivals in Catalonia, opening with the short film that won the Palme d’Or in Cannes, Timecode.

The shortest day of the year goes a long, long way!
