Qu’ils reposent en révolte (Des figures de guerre)
Audiovisuals
This film, three years in the making, records and presents the living conditions of migrants in Calais, in a transit zone in the north of France on their way to England. With this imposing, lyrical and edgy film, a mixture of visual poem, pamphlet and direct cinema, Sylvain George offers a masterly new take on the political documentary of the start of the 21st century. More than just a testimony to the repression of migration in the European geographic space, this is the most powerful aesthetic voice to have been heard in years in favour of the odyssey of uprooted people.
