Debate

The writer Per Petterson, one of the most outstanding voices in Norwegian literature, talks to translator Carolina Moreno Tena about his unique literary universe.

Per Petterson is the most internationally translated Norwegian author. In his work, consisting of eight novels and a collection of short stories, Petterson explores the fragility of the human being, loneliness and memory with the recurring presence of relationships and family conflicts. Among his latest novels translated into Catalan and Spanish we find Out Stealing Horses (translated as Sortir a robar cavalls in Catalan by Club Editor and as Salir a robar caballos in Spanish by Libros del Asteroide, 2020), a work with which Petterson conquered readers and literary awards around the world, Men in my situation (Homes en la meva situació in Catalan by Club Editor and Hombres en mi situación in Spanish by Libros del Asteroide, 2020), and I refuse (M'hi nego in Catalan by Club Editor, 2022), a moving story about the passing of time, friendship and vulnerability.

In this session, Per Petterson will share his particular narrative world with Carolina Moreno Tena, translator into Catalan of his latest works.
