Trained in sociology and a working as actively working as a journalist, Santi Palacios has been awarded with the 2nd prize in General News category (Singles). Most of his work focuses on the connection between the main reasons and living conditions that drive migrants leave their countries, migratory routes and migrants’ life in their destination coutries.
Meeting with Santi Palacios, winner of second prize General News (singles), to know his work and method. Photojournalist born in Madrid and based in Barcelona, he works internationally and has collaborated with news agencies and media such as Associated Press, El País, New York Times, CNN or Sunday Times.
His work has been published in newspapers and magazines worldwide and recognized with awards such as World Press Photo, National Photojournalism Award in two consecutive years, or the National Headliners Awards, among others. Educated in sociology and working as a journalist, in recent years he has focused most of his work on the connection between living conditions in the countries of origin of the migrants, the migratory routes and their life in the countries of destination.
