Lilit's daughters

Festival Clàssics

Scene

The choreographers and dancers Sol Picó, Raquel Gualtero, Sonia Gómez and Anna Hierro perform a selection of classical texts about nature and witches conceived by the writer Carlota Gurt and accompanied by the music of the Barcelona Art Orchestra.

Lilit’s daughters is a corporeal narration that explores the roots of the delirious, misogynist and murderous discourse about witches, and the construction of this collective imaginary to fight against the fear that women once brought (still brings?) us. A journey through the mental and physical traces in the bodies of women who have said “no”. Four solos of four misguided women: Lilit, Medea, the Witch and Orlando. Four new musical compositions based on texts by Euripides. Ben Sira, two Dominican inquisitors and Virginia Woolf. An incantation to atone for the dead. A cry that cries out: “If we frighten you, that's your problem. We all come from Lilit”.
