Writers Inés Martín Rodrigo and Mar García Puig talk about how to build new cultural references for sexual dissidence from the literary word.
When Inés Martín Rodrigo wrote Una homosexualidad propia (Destino, 2023), an intimate testimony about how she came to the full assumption of her sexual orientation, she did it thinking about the importance of having references when facing the silences imposed by the norm. "I aspire to explain what I could not read, what I did not have the opportunity to hear," she writes. For her, making herself visible is a gesture of commitment to the defense of fundamental rights that are acquired, but still fragile. In this conversation, Martín Rodrigo talks to Mar García Puig, author of La historia de los vertebrados (Random House/La Magrana, 2023), about the importance of dissident words at a time marked by the possibilities of social and political regression.
