Historia potencial de Francesc Tosquelles, Catalunya i la por

Halfway between experimental documentary and speculative fiction, the film tells the story of the Catalan psychiatrist Francesc Tosquelles, and not from what has been documented of the experiences in which he participated, but from what is missing from them. Without separating the then and the now, the living from the dead, nor the awareness of the unconscious, this film potentially makes history of a doctor who in critical times of the twentieth century politicized psychiatry, turning around our relationship with madness and the normal man. Història potencial de Francesc Tosquelles wants to reconstruct a forgotten legacy for Catalonia and the world, opening a self-critical space on the forgetfulness of these pasts marked by war and exile.

After the screening there will be a debate with the director, Mireia Sallarès, the researcher Joana Masó, the sociologist Éric Fassin, Veronika Arauzo, sex worker and transfeminist activist, and Marta Duran, filmmaker and documentary filmmaker.
