In its first four decades, the cinema lacked memory, as the life of a film was limited to its time on the billboards. Furthermore, the physical fragility of the support meant that this disappearance was real in many cases. The films of this session present two arms that combated this volatility: media archaeology and the appearance of film stored. The Film of Her reminds us of the fortunate rescue of hundreds of films from the Edison workshop the same day as they were on the way to the tip.

Le Fantôme d'Henri Langlois focuses both on the famous, polemical cinema figure and on the revolution of recovering and being able to see films from the past.
