From Mountain to Fingers
Experimenting with Clay, with Martina Rogers
Family
In this workshop, artist Martina Rogers invites us to experience with our hands the plasticity of clay and discover its origin in mountains, forests, rivers and paths.
Playing with clay is a journey to our origin, a bridge between past and present that connects us with the land and its many forms of life. Children will be able to experiment with clay in different states—dry, powdered, wet and malleable—and discover that it is a living record of the environment which holds stories that can be heard and shaped with their hands to create new narratives.
The workshop is an invitation to connect with the land and landscapes of the world and to reflect on the meaning of the Earth as the home of all living creatures, at the same time imagining how different places in the world communicate, from the Amazon region to Catalonia.
