Festival of video clip artists. year 3

REC is one of the few festivals in Spain devoted exclusively to music video clips. The REC festival will take place in Olot on 1 November 2008. All activities will be held in Sala 15 of Espai Zero1 and as a new feature this year, the festival will be transported simultaneously by ANELLA CULTURAL to Reus, Lleida and Barcelona.

 

The festival's founding aim is to obtain recognition for the video clip as a field of creative experimentation for audiovisual creators, in which the limitations on content and style are far fewer than in other genres. The video clip is one of today's freest genres, as well as being the source of many of the new ideas that are later adopted by advertising, television and cinema.

The REC is also a space where anyone who's interested can get an overview of the current state and new trends in the world of the video clip in Spain.

As well as supporting established creators, REC also hopes to provide a favourable medium for new ones: the amateur section offers upcoming creators a chance to show their work directly to the public, without having to be commissioned to make a video clip.

8 p.m. Live "Battle of the Video Clips" with Mery Cuesta (in Olot) and Lluís Cerveró (at the CCCB)

9.30 p.m. Viewing of finalists in the Official Section + Amateur Section
