LOOP Festival, an annual meeting point for professionals in the video art world, aims to become a worldwide referent, an active platform for diffusion, creation and management for all video art lovers.
For 12 days (23 May to 3 June), LOOP Festival will occupy various spaces in the city of Barcelona.
LOOP Festival brings Matthew Barney to the CCCB, for the first time in Barcelona, and presents his work The Cremaster Cycle, a five-film cycle based on the genesis of creation, which takes as its conceptual departure point the male cremaster muscle that controls the contractions of the testicles in response to external stimuli. Barney started work on the cycle in 1994, since when his meteoric rise has led some critics to consider him the best artist of his generation.
