Bivac
Bivac 2024 open call
Want to programme a festival of young people’s thought and creation?
Festivals
What would a festival of thought, designed, curated and run by young people, be like? In fact, what will the third year of Bivac be like?
We’re looking for a group of 10 young people aged between 18 and 25, with a variety of interests and training, to meet weekly at the CCCB and devise a programme of thought that incorporates their ways of doing things, their references and their concerns.
The training workshop lasts 8 months, from February to June 2024, and September to November 2024. The festival will take place during the month of November 2024.
As well as the accompaniment of the CCCB and La Sullivan, the group will receive the visit of philosophers, artists and curators, who will share their reflections and discoveries. This collaborative process will shape the third outing of the Bivac Festival.
Selection process
If you’d like to form part of this workshop of creation and curatorship to programme Bivac 2024, send the following material to [email protected] by 28 January 2024:
- Your name, date of birth, telephone number and email address.
- A letter of presentation and motivation to form part of the project.
- A proposal for an activity that could form part of this festival, clearly setting out the format, subject, guests, space, duration and target audience, along with a justification.
A team made up of representatives of the CCCB and La Sullivan will assess the applications. On 1 February we will communicate the results of the first phase to you individually by email, and call the pre-selected candidates to a personal interview on the afternoon of 6, 7 or 8 February. We will announce the finalist applications by email on 12 February. The first training session will take place on 21 February.
Important information to include
- Send the material in a single file, with your name in the title of the document.
- If you are selected for interview, let us know if you are unable to attend on any of the afternoons proposed for this purpose: 6, 7 and 8 February, from 16:00 to 19:00 (include this information in the document you submit).
- By presenting a proposal, you undertake to attend 80% of the training sessions, which will take place on Wednesdays from 18:00 to 20:00 at the CCCB.
- Training days: 21 and 28 February; 6, 13 and 20 March; 3, 10, 17 and 24 April; 8, 15, 22 and 29 May; 5, 12 and 19 June, 18 and 25 September; 2, 9, 16 and 23 October; 6 November.
Bivac, the festival of young people’s thought, has taken place twice. You can consult the programmes and watch the videos from 2022 and 2023.
