BCNmp7. Musical Creativity and Cultural Institutions

BCN-mp7 presents seven sessions of creation, mix and debate about contemporary popular music. The cycle is made up of colloquiums devoted to open critical reflection on the current music scene and concerts that aim to establish new points of fusion and friction between the various musical genres.

The function of music schools on the new cultural scene. Subsidization policies. The available infrastructure. Sponsorship and patronage. Languages and cultural policies. The representation of music on arts councils. Institutional R+D. Models undergoing crisis. Emergence of new platforms, programmes and networks.
