Vicent Andrés Estellés: the poet of the body
Scene + Music
Free
Now in its tenth year, Barribrossa presents a trilogy of shows with the title Vicent Andrés Esteller: el poeta del cos, with the aim of keeping alive the flame of the Valencian poet, 20 years after his death.
18.00h Presentation by Albert Roig and Laura Borràs
18.30h COS (Body) by Vicent Andrés Estellés
In the late sixties and early seventies, Vicent Andrés Estellés and Blai Bonet forged a dual trail in Catalan poetry: both were committed to orality and pushing back the borders of the literary language of Noucentisme, using the Catalan of Valencia and Majorca, and colloquialisms. Further, they were both passionate (and therefore hyperbolic) poets who spoke of love and desire in a direct way that was new to Catalan poetry, without moralistic or idealising veils.
