Judy Dempsey

Judy Dempsey (Dublin, 1956) is a journalist and senior fellow at Carnegie Europe and editor in chief of the influential international relations blog Strategic Europe. She graduated from Trinity College, Dublin, where she studied history and political science. During the 1980s, Dempsey reported on Central and Eastern Europe for the Financial Times, the Irish Times, and the Economist. Since 2001, she has been the diplomatic correspondent in Brussels for The Financial Times as well as a columnist and Germany and East European correspondent for The International Herald Tribune.
