Head of the Carl Sagan Centre for the Study of Life in the Universe

Nathalie Cabrol, an expert in astrobiology, is head of the SETI Institute's prestigious Carl Sagan Centre for the Study of Life in the Universe. Her field of research is about the possibility of finding traces of life on other planets on the basis of studying extremophiles (microbes that are able to survive in extreme environments). She has made numerous expeditions to the Licancabur volcano (6,014 metres) for her research on extremophiles, thus also attaining the non-official records for highest free diving and highest altitude diving.
